Dr. Shafik Sachedina of Sussex Healthcare

Recognized for his inspiring work, insights as well as contributions to the Islamic community, Dr. Shafik Sachedina has played an integral role at Sussex Healthcare besides jointly owning and founding the company. Dr. Shafik Sachedina was born in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in 1950. He pursued his medical degree in the University of London, Guy’s Hospital and Dental School where he qualified as a dental surgeon. Through his studies and the knowledge acquired in dental surgery, Sachedina has influenced and touched thousands of lives. He has volunteered in various organizations and services over the years including Jamatii institutions, and Aga Khan where his interest in voluntary services advanced.

Dr. Shafik Sachedina holds several positions in different healthcare companies also. As the Aga Khan Secretariat and Jamatii head of institutions, he has coordinated the Ismaili institutions community programs in various key areas. He also holds other major positions such as being a member of the Ismaili leaders, member of the AKDN committee. Sachedina is also the chairman of FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance International Co-donating Committee.

The talk was projected towards solving the Syrian Crisis by negotiating with the Syrian government and its opposition.
